All Family Matters, Inc now offers three programs for individuals and families. Our Intensive In-Home Service offers individual and family counseling/therapy, crisis intervention, and case management services to children 3-18 years with a mental health diagnosis. The Mental Health Support Program offers case management and supportive counseling to adults 18 and over with a mental health diagnosis. Our Therapeutic Day Treatment Program serves children ages 2 to 16 years with behavioral disorders and mental health diagnoses who are not able to manage appropriate behavior within traditional settings. The program will utilize verbal and picture exchange communication with emphasis on positive behavioral reinforcement to teach social skills and age appropriate emotional expression. As a program of Medical Home Plus, Bounce . . . Raising Resilient Children focuses on programs that will guide adults by modeling opportunities to build resiliency skills in children. When adults implement these practices, the children they care for develop the ability to “BOUNCE” back from the many challenges they face in their lives. Bounce also provides violence, alcohol, tobacco and drug prevention programs such as “Al’s Pals” in child care centers and elementary schools throughout the greater Richmond and Petersburg area. Recently, Bounce has expanded its programs to include working with families of children with ADHD.

The goal of the Children’s Mental Health Resource Center is to be the community’s go-to source for information and assistance related to children's mental health. The Center was established by a coalition of organizations and individuals in the Greater Richmond community who came together with the goal of making it easier to navigate the complex system of mental health care for children. The Center's programs include:

  • An on-site library with educational materials in both English and Spanish, and a workstation for doing guided research on the internet
  • Family Navigators, a family-to-family peer support program in the initial stages of development

CHIP, a program of Family Lifeline, provides primary and secondary prevention services to pregnant women and families with children up to the age of 6 years. In addition, CHIP provides asthma case management for children up to the age of 18 years. These services are provided in the family's home through a team approach. A team consists of an Outreach Worker, Registered Nurse, and Mental Health Clinician. CHIP works in partnership with parents. Our services include parent education with a focus on child development, health education, case management, and adult mental health services (with a specific focus on depression in pregnancy and postpartum). Services are free and voluntary.

Individual and family counseling; Parents education classes, anger management classes, and domestic violence assessment and groups at various times and locations. Participates with most insurance companies and offers a sliding fee scale rate for self-pay clients.

Commonwealth Catholic Charities hosts 8 and 12-week support groups to assist youth and women recovering from trauma. Groups help participants to heal from abuse and neglect, improve self-esteem, let go of guilt and anger, and build healthy relationships.

The youth support group is designed for immigrant and refugee youth or youth of immigrant and refugee parents. The group offers emotional help and support in an interactive counseling session utilizing art materials. Participants must be age fifteen or older to attend. The group lasts 12 weeks and is billable to insurance or Medicaid. Sliding scale fees are available for anyone who is uninsured. Children with limited English proficiency are welcomed through the art-based curriculum. Classes meet every other Monday evening at 5:30 p.m. at 1512 Willow Lawn Drive in Richmond.

The women’s support group assists women recovering from trauma associated with domestic or sexual violence experienced as a child or as an adult. Participants must be eighteen or older to attend. The group meets for 8 weeks and is billable to insurance or Medicaid. Sliding scale fees are available for anyone who is uninsured. Classes meet on Monday evenings at 7:15 p.m. at 1512 Willow Lawn Drive in Richmond.

Our Refugee Resettlement and Immigrant Services programs provide school liaison services to refugee and immigrant youth. We strive to create a collaborative effort between students, parents, and schools in which youth can fully benefit from our American education system. Our program serves as a comprehensive multicultural resource to support the needs of all refugee and immigrant children. We provide the following services: thorough orientation to schools, laws and regulations; assistance with school enrollment and required paperwork; homework tutoring and peer mentoring; follow-up on children's progress; assistance advocating in school related matters; intervention related to cross-cultural understanding; assistance and interpretation at parent/teacher conferences, child study meetings, initial IEP meetings and home visits.

The Faces of Hope "Obesity Prevention" is an in-home nutrition and fitness education program designed to meet the nutritional and fitness needs of the entire family. The program involves collaboration between the participants' physician, a registered dietician, certified fitness trainer and a licensed professional counselor to cater to the individual needs of each child and family. To be eleigible for this program children must be between the ages of 6-18 with a body mass index of 24.9 to 29.9 with a BMI approaching the higher end of the 85th percentile causing concern (prevention) to above the 95th percentile, live in the Metro Richmond area, have the ability to understand basic instructions, perform simple excercise movements, and each child must have a primary care physician

Fresh Start for Single Mothers And Their Children Outreach Project is a faith based program which welcomes single mothers from all races, income levels and all faiths, divorced, never married, adoptive moms, widowed and grandmothers raising grandchildren alone.

The program consists of three phases. Resource Mothers is a home-visiting program providing a combination of social support, education and practical assistance to first-time pregnant teens who make the transition to parenthood and who experience the crisis of a teen pregnancy. We are involved with the teen from the early prenatal period until the child’s first birthday educating them about topics such as pregnancy, parenting, child development, birth control, continuing education and nutrition. Teens are linked to community resources and are sometimes transported to doctors and community appointments.

The Rubicon, Inc. Women with Children Treatment Community (WCTC) Program is a residential, rehabilitation program located in the Highland Park. The program offers woman a unique opportunity to participate in residential substance abuse treatment. Their children are able to accompany them into the program, thus enabling the family to stay together. This recovery focuses on addiction and parenting issues, as well as helping the family move towards a healthier and more functional family lifestyle.

Safe Harbor empowers survivors of sexual and domestic violence to transform their lives, and promotes healthy relationships for all. To best meet the needs of survivors, we provide -emergency shelter, 24-hour helpline, hospital accompaniment (RHART), counseling, children/youth services, and court advocacy for adults and children/youth who have been impacted by sexual and/or domestic violence. These are provided in both English and Spanish. We also provide educational presentations on topics related to domestic and sexual violence and Safe Harbor’s services.
