Prevent Child Abuse Virginia (also known as PCAV) is the Virginia Chapter of Prevent Child Abuse America and National Circle of Parents. PCAV provides both direct and statewide awareness and advocacy activities. Direct services include coordination of the state wide Healthy Families Virginia program, production of Hugs and Kisses through Theatre IV and the 800-CHILDREN statewide, toll-free helpline for parents, other caregivers and professionals. Other activities include training and assistance for prevention professionals, coordination of the statewide Child Abuse Prevention Month activities each year including an annual conference, coordination of the Virginia Statewide Parent Education Coalition, the Family Resource Center and a range of advocacy services both direct and indirect including training for professionals and volunteers.

As a leader in their local community, Full Circle offers grief groups, remembrance programs, and educational trainings. Fresh Start for Single Mothers & Their Children Community Outreach Project is a faith-based 20 week positive life advancement program consisting of inspirational and educational components with assigned family encouragers, dinner, small group discussion time, childcare, teen room, community connections to helpful programs and resources and needs assessments for participating families. There is never any charge for our program participants. We have weekly expert guests that cover important educational topics such as budgeting and credit, employment, interview and resume strategies, stress management, parenting on your own, car care, domestic violence awareness and child protection, beauty out of ashes, and starting a relationship with God.

First Home Care enables individuals to receive the care they need in their homes and communities, and reduce the need for hospitalization and out-of-community placement. Using strength-based and family focused approaches, they develop programs which build on and improve the successes of the individuals we serve. Their clinical and case management staff members utilize strength-based and skill-building approaches to engage children and adults to support their successes at home, in school, and in the community.

Comfort Zone Camp is a nonprofit 501(c) 3 bereavement camp that transforms the lives of children who have experienced the death of a parent, sibling, or primary caregiver. The free camps include confidence building programs and age-based support groups that break the emotional isolation grief often brings. Comfort Zone Camps are offered to children 7-17, and are held year-round across the country. We have offices in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Virginia.

C2ADOPT is an innovative leader in the adoption community with a full array of trauma-informed, adoption competent counseling and assessment services, including support groups. C2 staff are available to provide training to groups of all sizes and help treatment providers, schools, childcare agencies, and parents better understand the unique needs of children and families in foster care and adoption. Adult adoptees and birth/first parents may benefit from their trainings, counseling services and their support groups. Services are available to anyone impacted by adoption or foster care. They welcome single, married, and LGBT families to explore services with us.

All Family Matters, Inc.

All Family Matters, Inc. now offers four programs for individuals and families. Their Intensive In-Home Service offers individual and family/counseling therapy, crisis intervention, and case management services to children 3-18 years with a mental health diagnosis or behavioral disorder. The Mental Health Skill-Building Program offers case management and supportive counseling to adults 18 and over with a mental health diagnosis. Their Therapeutic Day Treatment Program serves children ages 3 to 16 with behavioral disorders and mental health diagnoses that are not able to manage appropriate behavior within traditional settings. This program will not be operating during the summer of 2014. We are also offering a group home for adult individuals with intellectual disability.
