For 114 years, UMFS has been helping children and families in Virginia find hope. Through our treatment foster care program, foster parents and children find one another and often go on to become adoptive families. Through our residential treatment programs at the Child & Family Healing Center and Leland House, girls and boys overcome trauma and heal. Through Charterhouse School, students with special needs and autism find help and success. And through Project LIFE, teens aging out of foster care in Virginia find new skills and a voice. Through all of our services children and families find hope.

Our program is a rehabilitation program located in Highland Park. The program offers women a unique opportunity to participate in residential substance abuse treatment; their children are able to accompany them into the program, thus enabling the family to stay together. This recovery program focuses on addiction and parenting issues, as well as helping the family move towards a healthier and more functional family lifestyle. The disease of drug addiction affects all kinds of people from all walks of life. We are privileged to serve the women and children who are affected by the devastating illness.
