William Byrd Community House provides an environment for Richmond’s children where reading is always an adventure, healthy eating is a way of life and the child’s family is an integral part of the educational process making the children more likely to succeed in school and go on to become productive contributing members of their communities. The Early Childhood Education and Extended Day Programs, designed for children ages 3-5, are state licensed and 4-star rated programs through the Virginia Start Quality Initiative. William Byrd Community House also provides a Summer Camp program, designed for children 3-12. Supportive wrap-around services for families enrolled in programs, the Byrd House Farmlet, the Grace Arents Community Garden, the Byrd House Markey and the Grace Arents Library programs are integrated into all Children Services at William Byrd Community House.
